Pamela's CD Review from Belgium - Rootstime
Here is an English translation of a review of Let Me Be Me from Rootstime in Belgium:
Pamela Danzy grew up in the swamps of Louisiana. Her first experience singing was in the local church choir. Later she discovered artists such as Etta James, Delbert McClinton and LeRoy Parnell. From the age of 16, she sang in local bands that played in small villages along the Texas / Louisiana border. After her studies she moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where she sang in honky tonk bars. To further her career, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee. There she received professional guidance, but she was pushed into the commercial country genre. This was clearly not the direction she wanted. She left Nashville and moved back to Austin, Texas. For the past 2 years she worked and found her own sound. Her debut CD 'Let Me Be Me' is the main result of this. A strong opening with John Hiatt's' "Lovers Will". Immediately we hear that her voice is pretty bluesy. She creates chills in songs like "Let Me Be Me", "Save Me" and "Love's Been Rough On Me". In these ballads she sings about love experiences. "Cryin' Days" is uptempo and has a beautiful slide guitar accompaniment. "One Less Monkey" is a nicely produced and funky number. It closes with the touching 'When the Day is Done". With "Let Me Be Me", Pamela has made a beautiful picture. The production is appropriately full and when her beautiful voice is not singing, the musical accompaniment is at a good sound level. I do not know whether I should wish her well because then she might not make such lovely ballads. But she certainly deserves musical admirers.

Country Throwdown – Waco, Texas
Hello Everyone,
I had the pleasure to be a part of an acoustic show that opened for Mark Chestnut, on May 20, 2007. We were all there playing our music for a little 13 year old girl named Nikki Gilbert who has cancer. What a precious one she is. Please visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/nicolegilbert then click on "journal" to read her May 26th comments about the show and also learn of what a courageous little girl she is.
This event was hosted by Martin Audiology at the Hog Creek Ice House in Waco, Texas. So many thanks to my dear friend Joy Bastow, Dr. Martin and Curtis Martin for inviting me to be a part of such a great cause. Thank you Zack and Jim for providing the Hog Creek Ice House to play our music. Your place is awesome!!
The acoustic show consisted of Dane Sterling, Jason Allen, Kyle Park, Gordon Collier, and me (the only girl in the acoustic round ). I haven’t done an acoustic show in awhile. It was so much fun, I think we all could have played for hours more, especially for Nikki. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting the music and the event.
Please keep Nikki in your prayers!!
God Bless you All,
See you at the next show!!!
